We are looking for motivated individuals to volunteer and help run the Whale of a Time Workshop at public events.

Whale of a Time Volunteers

At Whale of a Time we have a unique approach in engaging the community through a creative message. During the Whale of a Time Workshop we aim to engage people of all age groups with the theme of endangered species, community wellbeing and sustainability. People have the opportunity to make their favourite animal species in clay and take the experience home in their hearts.

Having a whale of a time, using your creativity, developing clay modelling skills, learning about our environment, sustainability and endangered species whilst promoting community wellbeing is what the Whale of a Time Workshop is all about. Please view photos in the Whale of a Time Gallery

Whale of a Time Volunteers help with the running of events at festivals, schools and youth clubs. You would ideally be able to work in a team, be flexible and travel to different locations in and around London and sometimes further. During workshops you’ll be focus point for the visitors including young people (all age groups) as well as adults and support the team where necessary.

Main tasks include handing out art materials and tools, helping people with their artwork, discussing environmental issues and leading by good example, tidying workshop space, being you and having a whale of a time!

It would be helpful but is not requirement if you have previous experience working with children, using clay and / or other art materials in a school or workshop environment.

Your keen interest in wildlife conservation and education will find great interest in discussions during the events and encourage people to create a positive attitude towards protecting our planet and becoming ambassadors of the Earth.

All interested participants should please send a CV and a short paragraph of why you are would like to become a Whale of a Time Volunteer to info@whaleofatime.org We'll then contact you to arrange an informal chat with you.
